Finally, after months of no progress (due to no time) I've finally made the updates to the Pod interior noted in the previous page. I came upon a happy piece of luck - the interior side of the door follows the curve of the door itself, so it retains the same same thickness through any vertical cross-section. This means that it's possible to move the rear edge of the starboard antechamber wall forward, but parallel and not have to worry about any nasty shaping problems (other than at the very top, above the inset of the door).

I included a shot of the door to show my solution to the antechamber floor problem - I cleaved out the very bottom of the door up to the level of the floor. Now the door slides over the top of the floor without my having to reshape the floor at all. A much nicer looking solution. (And only about 30 minutes with a Dremel and Xacto knife.)

Noticed a problem in my measurements for the triangular console - my mind's eye was telling me one thing when I should have gone with what geometry said. Basically, I had an obtuse angle where the console meets the rear wall instead of an acute one. That's been updated in my internal plans and will be posted as soon as I have a chance to make the changes to the piece drawings.

Next I cut plastic (finally!!!) to set the main portions of the interior "in stone", then it's on to creating drawings of the walls/ceiling. (As you'll note in the above photo, I've left out the very top portion of the rear wall - this is because I'm waiting until the ceiling is designed so that I can match them up via drawings again before cutting plastic.)

Stay tuned ...
